This Zinfandel Drive – Douglas Road Extension project will provide a number of roadway system benefits including:
- Improved roadway safety.
- Increased traffic capacity to ease congestion and delays.
- Improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
- Meet Americans with Disability Act requirements.
- Beautification of the project area.
Planned roadway improvements include:
- Align and construct six lanes, Zinfandel Drive Extension, with raised medians between the Mather Field SPA boundary and Douglas Road.
- This will include the widening of Douglas Road to six lanes with raised medians between Zinfandel Drive to Sunrise Boulevard.
- The Douglas Road improvement will also include the construction of a bridge over the Folsom South Canal to accommodate the roadway widening.
- This include the installation of traffic signals at Douglas Road and Zinfandel Drive.

Estimated total project costs are $80 million and will be provided by the Mather Field Financing
District (1%) and the City of Rancho Cordova (99%).
