MacReady Avenue Reconstruction - Old Placerville to Bleckley

Project Description

SACDOT played a strategic role in redevelopment of the former Mather Air Force Base. Department staff was lead on $9 million in federal grants that were used to demolish buildings, improve infrastructure and landscaping. It was essential for the Sacramento area economy to have a successful transition from a military base to civilian uses. The former base is now becoming a thriving work center.

Continued efforts to redevelop Mather will be in conjunction with SACDOT and the Department of Airports. The MacReady Avenue Reconstruction project which will include:  

  • Evaluation of roadway rehabilitation needs for MacReady Avenue between Old Placerville Road and Bleckley Street.
  • Evaluation of the need for pavement repairs, utilities, curbs, drainage, etc.

Tentative Schedule

Preliminary Engineering 2005 to 2006
Environmental Review, 2005 to 2007
Design, 2005 to 2007
Right-of-Way Acquisition, 2005 to 2007
Construction, 2007 to 2008

Funding

Estimated total project costs are $3.65 million and will be provided by a Department of Airports Federal Roadway funding program.
