Gerber-Power Inn-Elsie Median Landscaping Improvements

The project proposes to add raised landscaped medians or frontages along Power Inn Road between Lenhart Road and Skywoods Way-Haystack Drive, along Elsie Avenue between Power Inn Road and Cottonwood Lane, and along Gerber Road between Power Inn Road and Elk Grove-Florin Road as part of the Freeport Regional Water Authority (FRWA) water transmission pipeline project.

This project will be an opportunity for the community to enhance and beautify these roadway corridors in South Sacramento. The proposed landscaped median locations will be in consideration of:

• accessibility from neighborhood side streets
• continuous lengths of median (as opposed to short fragmented segments)
• traffic circulation
• right-of-way

This project is a cooperative effort between FRWA and the County of Sacramento.

Environmental Study 2005 to 2006
Right Of Way Acquisition 2005 to 2006
Construction 2007 to 2009

Funding

The estimated total cost is $3.3 million and is a cooperative project between FRWA and the County of Sacramento.
