Florin Road Enhancements - Chandler Drive to Power Inn Road

Project Description

Sacramento County and the Sacramento Housing Redevelopment Agency are developing a master plan to enhance the Florin Road corridor between Stockton Boulevard to Elk Grove-Florin Road. This project will make improvements on Florin Road between Chandler Drive and Power Inn Road. Improvements will include:

• Replacement of existing asphalt medians with landscaping and other hardscape treatments around existing trees.
• Construction of new sidewalks. Existing ditches will be filled and replaced by curb, gutter, drainage pipes and drain inlets. This includes replacement of existing driveways.
• New sidewalks will include ADA ramps for persons with disabilities. Some existing utility poles will be relocated.
• Gateway improvements to the Old Florin Town area. One will be placed on the southeast corner of Florin Road and Power Inn Road and the other at the northwest corner of Florin Road and Florin-Perkins Road.
• Roadway slurring sealing and re-striping. This includes re-striping for bicycle lanes.

Funding

Estimated total cost is $3.3 million. The project will be funded by the Measure A Sales Tax, Transportation Equity Act (TEA), State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) Surface Transportation Equity Act (STEA), and Sacramento Housing Redevelopment Authority (SHRA).
