Countywide Sidewalk Continuity Project - Phase 2B

Project Description

This project will construct sidewalks to fill in gaps at 14 locations in accordance with the Sidewalk Construction Project Priority List. These include locations where pedestrian volumes and adjacent vehicle volumes are relatively high, and where it is unlikely that property development or redevelopment will occur in the near future. Benefits of this sidewalk continuity project include:

  • Improving pedestrian safety.
  • Providing continuous sidewalk facilities.
  • Improve appearance and uniformity of the street infrastructure.
  • Improve accessibility for disabled pedestrians.

The locations are:

Alta Arden Expwy (west of Morse)Annadale Lane (east/west of Edison to Auburn)
Auburn Boulevard (west of Annadale)East Parkway (south of Florin Road)
Edison Avenue (Watt to Annadale)Edison Avenue (west of Watt)
El Camino (east/west of Burgandy, east of Wright) Fair Oaks Boulevard (at Orange Tree)
Fair Oaks Boulevard (east of Miles)Fulton Avenue (south of Carson and intersection)
Gerber Road (east of Power Inn Road) Kiefer Boulevard (Huntsman to North Kiefer) [transferred to the North Kiefer Boulevard (Closure of Kiefer Boulevard) Project
Northrop Avenue (west of Bell and intersection) Sierra Boulevard (Fulton to Howe) [Pending Phase 2c]
Watt Avenue (West Way to north of Sierra View) Watt Avenue (south of Robertson and intersection)

Environmental Review, 2003 to 2006
Right of Way, 2004 to 2007
Construction, 2007

Funding

The estimated total project cost is $2.8 million and will be funded by the Measure A Sales Tax and the Sacramento Housing Redevelopment Agency's Federal Community Development Block Grant.
