Teichert Construction was awarded a contract for this work by the Board of Supervisors in August. Information about the construction startup event is as follows: Date/Time Monday, September 21 @ 11:15 A.M. Location Ridgepoint Park (Corner of Galbrath Drive and McDermott Drive) Speakers Supervisor Susan Peters, Chair of the Board Supervisor Roger Dickinson Representative, Congresswomen Doris Matsui’s Office Representative, Congressman Dan Lungren’s Office Michael J. Penrose, Director, Department of Transportation According to Supervisor Peters, “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed by Congress is designed to help stimulate the economy, create jobs and address infrastructure needs. This project - using Federal Stimulus funds - does all that by creating 200 private sector jobs and repairing worn out roads in the unincorporated area. This is just one of 63 transportation projects using Stimulus funds that are pumping a total of $109 million into our regional economy.” (Visit www.sacog.org for more information about these projects approved by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments.) Mike Penrose, SACDOT Director added, “The Stimulus Funds have come to Sacramento County at an opportune time and will be put to good use. There is a need to simulate the economy but to also address aging infrastructure – in this case, unincorporated area streets. We have a significant pavement maintenance backlog and this project will help us to repave streets that are in urgent need of repair. We are pleased that we have been able to move forward quickly to solicit bids and award a contract for this work.” The following is a list of unincorporated area streets that will be resurfaced and repaired as part of this Stimulus project: Location District Street From To 1 1 44th Street 23rd Avenue 14th Avenue 2 1 Elverta Road 9th Street Rivergreen Drive 3 1 Galbrath Drive Walerga Road Monument Drive 4 1 Monument Drive Don Julio Boulevard Galbrath Drive 5 2 Center Parkway Sacramento City Limits “A” Parkway 6 3 Eastern Avenue Fair Oaks Boulevard Arden Way 7 3 Edison Avenue Howe Avenue Watt Avenue 8 3 Fulton Avenue Munroe Street Arden Way 9 4 Greenback Lane Hazel Avenue Chestnut Avenue 10 4 Kenneth Avenue Greenback Lane Central Avenue 11 4 Pershing Avenue Hazel Avenue Filbert Avenue 12 4 Winding Way San Juan Avenue Sunrise Boulevard 13 5 Cottonwood Lane Elsie Avenue Stevenson Road 14 5 Huntsman Drive Kiefer Boulevard Rosemont Drive 15 5 Kiefer Boulevard South Watt Avenue Huntsman Drive 16 5 Power Inn Road Elk Grove City Limits Stevenson Road 17 5 Rosemont Drive Kiefer Boulevard Huntsman Road Please contact Dan Regan (Communication & Media Officer) at 874-7056 or regand@saccounty.net, for additional information. ### Visuals to Support Story: Elected officials and representatives will provide a photo opportunity with equipment being used as part of roadway repairs.
