Freeport Bridge Closure
Between River Road and State Route 160
~24 Hour Road Closure from September 8 to September 12~
  
      Sacramento, CA. – From 8:30 A.M. on Monday, September 8, to 3:30 P.M. on Friday, September 12, 2008, both directions of Freeport Bridge will be closed for bridge maintenance and repair and will not be open to traffic.  Freeport (Draw) Bridge is over the Sacramento River in between State Route 160 and River Road; approximately 0.5 miles south of the town Freeport.  This closure will not affect traffic on River Road and Freeport Boulevard.  This work is part of a Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SACDOT) project that will repair the center lock guide bushings on the bridge.  Traffic is not allowed on the bridge while workers are repairing the lock mechanisms.  
      The public is advised to avoid this area and follow the detour signs placed to guide motorists around the project area. Alternate routes include the Capital City Freeway to the north or Paintersville Bridge to the south to cross the Sacramento River.
      SACDOT recognizes that the bridge closure will cause inconvenience to the area residents and motorists and will make every effort to complete the repair work ahead of schedule if possible. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to complete the repair and make this bridge safer for all users.
